Muirhead Tower - University of Birmingham

This is the Muirhead Tower at the Edgbaston Campus of the University of Birmingham.

As seen from Vincent Drive.

The mammoth Muirhead Tower for Arts, bridging the ring road (a location regretted by Conder), by Philip Dowson of Arup Associates, 1968-9, variously loved or loathed. A 'dark' floor of laboratories or lecture halls for every two glazed floors, and a large hall in its sloping underbelly.

From Pevsner Architectural Guides: Birmingham by Andy Foster.
