Loggia del Consiglio, Piazza dei Signori, Verona

Off Piazza delle Erbe is Piazza dei Signori. Surrounded by many interesting historical buildings.

This is the Logia del Consiglio. also named after "Fra Giocondo".

It was built between 1476 and 1493. The attribution of the building to the Veronese architect Fra Giocondo is uncertain. This is the finest Renaissance building in Verona, where an almost Tuscan simplicity of lines blends with subtle decorative work and a warmth of colour reminiscent of Venetian architecture. Statues of Catullus, Pliny, Marcus, Vitruvius and Cornelius Nepos by Alberto da Milano crown the building.

Majority of this information came from the book "Verona: History and Masterpieces - English Edition".
