Nova V1405 Cassiopeiae outburst has brightened to magnitude 5.4
A single 120 sec image acquired with iTelescope 280 mm RASA telescope. The Nova was mag 7.8 since shortly after its discovery in March but it suddenly brightened to about mag 5.4. Captured on May 11th. The bright star on the left side of the image is 4-Cas mag 4.93 as a point of comparison. The cluster to the left is M52 and the nebula blow is the Bubble nebula.
Additional note added, the outburst shown here was very transient according to plots on AAVSO.org the nova is nearly mag 7 on the 15th and fading a good rate. So fortunately this image was acquired at nearly peak brightness. See comment below of graph from the AAVSO site.

Novas this bright are uncommon.
