Stacked Image of a tumbling bright green meteor with Comet Catalina and Arcturus.
Details: This is a redo of a prior posted single image (flic.kr/p/CMKhZ2). This is a stack of 11 36 mp full frame images ( F3.5, 10,000 ISO, 6 sec each) to provide enhanced background to the meteor. Note the meteor is tumbling with the green fragments being shed as the meteor rotates in the middle of its burn. The tail of the comet shows faintly. Camera Nikon D810 and Nikon 180 mm 2.8 ED lens. The product of a more than a hour of computer data crunching with an Apple iMac. Because this is a medium telephoto image there is a lot of detail in the meteor showing the final fragmentation as it burns up as well as the green particles flying off as the meteor rotates (seen when image is enlarged). The camera and lens was mounted on an iOptron cubepro alt az mount centered on the comet.
