Abandoned house behind Rockland Lake

This place was really creepy. I don't usually get the willies when I am photographing abandoned buildings but I didn't even want to go around back by myself. I figure it must be haunted because I can't figure out any other reason anyone would let a property like this fall into disrepair.

This was one of my first experiment shooting in RAW format, and yes, it really does capture a lot more detail.

You have presented this creepy refuge of evil with great skill.
  • Treach One 6y

RAW doesn't capture more detail, it just gives you the ability to apply your own post processing such as sharpening and temperature etc.
It's a nice shot though for digital. Well done

Josephine Hudson was indeed the last owner of the house. She was an amazing woman who used to feed the deer out of her hands in the back yard. I believe the house was bought by the state in the early 60s and she was allowed to live there until her death. That is why it is abandoned today.

i honestly think there is a stigma to second empire style houses because of scary movies that usually use them as the main set for the "happenings"

Could you tell me where this is located?
  • Kenneth Hornsby 5y

Get me the address, city, county, and state where this house is located and i'll do some looking into it. I'll find out if something is going on there.
