Neptune (Le Mystique)

Start: 21st June 2009

Finish: 11th July 2009

Needles: 4 mm / 80 cm Addi Turbos

Yarn: Wollmeise "Molly"; 100% superwash Merino; colourway "Neptun"

Pattern: Joukahainen by Kristel Nyberg. Published in Finnish in the magazine Ulla 03/07. Pattern is available as an English translation as Ravelry download.

Name: The name comes from the last movement of the orchestral suite The Planets by Gustav Holst.

Modification: Added 5 rounds of stockinette after having joined all the pieces together to give the arms some more room. Added k2 between the raglan decreases to avoid the gaping holes. Did some improvisational neck-shaping with short rows. Worked out pretty well.

Yay!!!!!! I'm so in love with this jumper. The Wollmeise Molly is heavenly soft that I can even wear the jumper right next to my skin! I don't need to mention anything about the colours: absolutely gorgeous and intensive. A kind of colour that I have never worn before, but with this classic style, I can just mix it with whatever!

The slight pooling actually gives the jumper quite a lovely swirl effect and I totally adore it because it really reminds me of the gas swirls on Neptune.

I got 600 g of Molly and was a bit scared that I won't have enough...but I ended up using only 540 g in total because Molly grows after washing.

Can't wait for the weather to get cold again (yeah, bite me!), so that I can really wear this out!!! For the time being, I'm going to start working on the exact same jumper again with the Kornblume Molly I just got!
