Sunset in Winter Anklet: Side B

Started: 30th July 2007

Finished: Half-way on 09th August 2007

Yarn: Regia 4-ply, Hand-dyed by me (75% superwash virgin wool, 25% polyamid; 50 g / 210 m)

Needle: 2.5 mm/100 cm Lang Needles (comparable to Addi Turbos)

Pattern: Universal Toe-up Sock using Magic Cast-On

I've finished one side and the twin is already on the needles. The colours in the yarn itself vary so greatly...this is even more so pronounced when the sock is knit up. From the right and the left side of the same sock, the colours are just totally different!

The colours are as close as I can get in this bad lighting today (rain and rain) was with my mad touch-up skillz(TM) that I can get this result. (@ ISO 400, hence the graininess).

@Bockstark Knits: Yeah, we'll see. This is my reading sock. Apart from that, I'm just hoping that the yarn that's left would still be enough for the other side.

You know, they look almost like watercolor- but not the cheesy pastel combination that you normally would associate with the name. (The colors remind me of a stormy sunset Turner painting.)

@cashmere dreams: You know, now that you've mentioned that, it does remind me of watercolour painting....and Turner would be such a great comparison. ;-)

Very beautiful dye job. Regarding the little hole, I often get these and I just make one stitch on the inside of the sock to close it up. I know there are knitted-in solutions, but they often don't work for me so I just sort of fix it.

    Lovely socks!
