Australian Zebra Finch

Since this birdy is really a small one, my drawing must

be of one as seen by an ant ! I've always loved the photos

(Sumner mentioned in an email that he liked the kids in the

boat painting the fence--sorry, but one is about to clonk the other with

a Tonka truck for messing up his road...:-)

my brother took of these little guys and although they

don't compare to something like a macaw for color, they

are to me so beautiful with their clear patterns of color---

the scene below him is my side yard where the old boat used

as a sandboat was a favorite thing for the children

to play in, oh the roads they built and the brum brumming

sounds---and there's the barn and John Deere tractor...up

the road we had one of those red barns with white trim that

burned down, and this weathered gray one here....when they

pulled down this barn and put up a new aluminum one, I

was not a happy camper---but it was the way to go at the

time...that and open housing which meant no stalls to clean

on Pinerise Dairy Farms....the huge round bales of hay seen

in the fields now were unheard of then, too...
