Otto and Oxalis (10 Feb 10)

Along with the cala lilies, Oxalis is a South African visitor that has found a happy home in the Bay Area.

At least I think it's South African. That's the local legend, but if you look it up, you find there are 900 species and they hail from all over the world, including here.

This variety is the bane of many gardeners, at least in these parts. If anybody knows its genus species, please pass it on.

Still, makes for a pretty picture. Taken on Bernal Heights, San Francisco.
