sketch/doodle

My kid wouldn't sleep, so I made the design in the middle of the night, but then wondered what it might look like with windows. This is not done solidly, everything will tip, it's not a "finished" MOC, but it's a different way of showing the design on the floor. Just because.

Now get me more caffeine, stat.

    Friggin' amazing.
    I love your work - it's truly inspiring and I hope to incorporate some of it in a Castle MOC at some point in the future.

    Wow Katie, based on the huge positive reaction youve gotten on this one, you should make more stuff like this in the future! Apparently people like your incredible cheese mosaics much better when they are framed by architecture. It really does improve it, it kinda gives it scale and shows that it is indeed made out of Legos, believe it or not.

    Ah, thank you so much everyone. You guys are the best. ;-)

    Regarding the light: sun shining through windows sure can be pretty.

    4estFeller Indeed, I have incorporated architecture before. The best set to see it in is this one: www.flickr.com/photos/eilonwy77/sets/72157624332857453/wi... The Grand Staircase wore me out thoroughly, and I've been mostly just doodling and exploring since then. I did have an idea for another MOC, but I've been waiting for my bricklink order for a month now.... good grief.

    Chris Hester It's a sketch because I didn't make it strong or sturdy. If you look at it wrong it will fall apart. I just wanted to see what it would look like. ;-)

    @fgr62 Yay sleep! ;-)

    Matthew Falconieri I'm completely in love with technology. And thanks for the blog. ;-)

    Your 'sketch' would be other people's best work!

    I love seeing your awesome work in context. Like this window, the flooring to a room or staircase. :) I'm just crossing my fingers hoping that one of these days some MOC twelve feet long will appear from all your techniques and all of my minifigs will revolt, run away, and choose to live in "the great tiled palace".
  • Katie Walker 4y

    Chris Hester ;-)

    Sean and Steph Mayo My minifigs all want to run away and live in Sandy Cash's Brickistan, but then that has the advantage of already being built. But it'd be awesome to a 12 foot long tiled MOC... I guess I'll just have to keep collecting those cheese slopes... and those tiles... and plates.... wow, this is gonna get expensive. ;-)
  • Calvin W 4y

    fantastic way to display the tiles!

    Stunning work!
