  • Poop-colored brown? Really? (But then again, I doubt you have a child who likes to throw his poo around the house.....) ;-) (Oh, wait, that's gross -- sorry!) (Mushahahaha!)
  • I know! Someone needs to tell them to be fertile and multiply, or something...
  • It was almost enough to make me buy the set, but then I talked myself back into sense and a bricklink order. ;-)
  • Now I just need to make something tan and make use of them... aren't they lovely? ;-)
  • Woah that's a lot of dark blue cheese. - legovaughan
  • I see more cheese to the right...*curiosity*. Are we hiding something Katie? =P - <Antimatter>
  • I wish! Those are just 1x1 trans plates. Though I did buy some potc sets at the store today, so I have a few more cheesers to add to the collection. Sadly no purple ones, I think. ;-)

  • Indeed, these are silver.
  • Have too many cheese slopes? Impossible! Though I don't think I've much use for this color either. ;-)
  • I got all the dark blue so that I could work on this: www.flickr.com/photos/eilonwy77/5439519610/in/set-7215762...

...no, the cheese >.> - eldeeem
  • Bah, I'm like a little girl, I like the sparkly ones the most :) - Angeli ¥
  • No, actually it's a kid that grabs his poop from his diaper and throws it around the house.... don't even get me started on this... but we'll need to decontaminate the whole house one of these days....

Are they not beautiful?

After all that destruction (fun!), I got all my pieces all perfectly placed in their storage spots. Here are all my cheese slopes: Do you not get excited just looking at them? Does your heart not start racing? Are there not dreams of mosaics and windows dancing in your head? :-)

You do not know how jealous I am. I think I'm going to have to go and bricklink tons of cheese slopes now... and its all your fault!! :P

About how many cheese slopes do you think are in each little "cubicle"?

  3. rabҚ 47 months ago | reply

No, I was talking about down...... nevermind.

my family doesn't quite understand why I keep buying cheese slopes, they don't yet see much use in them: I really need to show them you masterpieces, that will convince them !

Cool! Now you can begin again. Your translucent blue, yellow, green and red slopes make me wonder what my ? pattern would look like in slope form...care to give it a try?

  6. buriedbybricks 47 months ago | reply

I am a bit surprised that your stock of red and black seem so small compared to the enviable amounts of the more rare colours.

    Oh also, yum!

Competition: name the total number of cheese slopes in this photo. Katie will let us know what the prize is!

The last time I did sth like this I won some Ba...I dont have enough time yet, but tomorrow I can guess. Maybe as prize a mosaic of the winners name...

More like a naughty baby. He even crunches rocks into bits in his mouth. No wonder his two front teeth have seen better days.

Sorry! ;-) Hmm. How many? I was going to count one for you, but some other people (ahem, Christopher) want a contest. So -- we'll see. ;-)

Oh -- more along these lines: www.flickr.com/photos/32482342@N05/5728487106/ ;-)

Or it might just convince them that you're crazy! (Just like I am, of course.) ;-)

Perhaps I will. I've been a bit stalled lately, with several ideas sort of floating around but mostly just doing a whole lotta nothin'. It'd be good to get motivated again.

I'm surprised by the scarcity of black, as that was the first color I ordered off of bricklink, as I needed some more for this: www.flickr.com/photos/eilonwy77/4940012048/in/set-7215762... That was what started me on a slippery slope of insanity (of the cheesy variety). But red -- well, dark red is just so much prettier! ;-)

Good grief, you two! Now I'm going to be roped into to not only counting thousands of tiny cheeses, but also designing a mosaic? Well, you're in luck in the sense that a) I was curious too, and b) I was actually planning on developing a cheese slope mosaic font and started getting the stuff ready this morning. (Not that I actually managed to do it, but that's a different story.) So -- if you guys want to guess, I might manage to count them. ;-)

Oh, and the font would be like this: www.flickr.com/photos/eilonwy77/5086690606/in/set-7215762... -- the top one, that is.

(Sorry for the long-winded nature of my comments -- I guess I'm rather long-winded by nature.) ;-)

Open brick link order 500 of each cheese slope colour !!!

  11. Ben Unleashed! 47 months ago | reply

Gaaah nooo... I just meant one little cubicle not the whole box... aw come on :P

At least give me an idea of how many of each color I should order to start off with :P

  12. eilonwy77 47 months ago | reply

    That'd be nice. ;-)

Well, the compartments in the left container are smaller than the ones on the right. I counted the left-most dark red one, because it seemed to be pretty full, and it had 151. But if you're looking for advice about buying them, I wouldn't look at what I have as a good example. I'd start small and only buy what you need for whatever project you are working on, personally. You might get 100 and decide you hate them and have no more use for them ever. And only get colors that you would use. That would be my advice. I'm trying hard to only buy what I need, which is one reason I feel guilty when I buy sets, because they always come with pieces that I'll never use again.

    Is that helpful?

  13. Ben Unleashed! 47 months ago | reply

Very helpful :) Thank you very much :) Now I need to study your mosaics a little more so I can figure out where to start! :)

  14. Chris Hester 47 months ago | reply

Weigh one. Then weigh them all. That way you can work out how many there are without counting them all.

Whoa I just realized something: "Where are the crackers?"

Are you a fellow Wallace and Gromit fan!?

  17. eilonwy77 47 months ago | reply

That'd be a great idea if I had a scale with that degree of accuracy. Alas, I left those all behind in the chemistry lab at my university.

    Thank you!

Aw, sorry, no. I was just thinking that crackers go with cheese.... cheese and crackers, right? Sorry to disappoint. ;-D

  18. Angeli ¥ 47 months ago | reply

do you know, how many of them per color do you have? :)

  19. eilonwy77 47 months ago | reply

I counted one compartment, and it had 152. So.... I could estimate based on that. ;-)

    Oh yes. ;-)
