Spacion Wagon

    Newer Older

What appears to be a Spacion Wagon having suffered an accident, and parked upon a flatbed truck, waiting by an abandoned warehouse in the decommissioned Oakland Army Base. What more could a holga-lover need?

If I didn't know you to an honest person, I would think you built this yourself out of papier mache! This is too weird and funcky for words.

I would love to have built this myself out of papier mache! But I didn't, of course.

Finding something like this just sitting there... well, I feel like I can hardly take credit for the picture.

      But thanks anyway, friends!

Steve, it's a good reason to take pictures of it.
Thanks, flare. This may still be there if you want to see it; it's off Marine St.
      You, too, airlines.
      Thanks for your visit, andrew.

I liked this so much that I went down to Maritime Street and found it, but didn't even take my camera out because I was pretty sure I couldn't do it justice. Your image has stuck with me too.

My favorites are always the Toycameras. The escape of superior light straight is magician. This is brilliant.

I went and visited it again today--believe it or not, it's on its way to becoming a Jetsons' float for the Oakland Holiday Parade, a role it appears to have played before!

Oh my goodness - who would have recognized it?! I think I like it better as a weird crashed relic, but this ain't bad, either!

I went to have a look last weekend, took one shot through the fence, and then got asked to leave by security. The guy was nice about it, and told me this was a parade float. Thanks to lens flare for the parade shot.
