London 2012 Orbit Tower to the Sky

The Shot

When I visited the Olympic Park for the BMX last Thursday 9th August I also explored the Park. I stayed into the evening to get images at night.

This shot is of the ArcelorMittal Orbit Tower in front of the Olympic Stadium. The Tower is a 115-metre-high (377 ft) sculpture and observation tower. It is the UK's tallest sculpture.

This picture was enhanced with HDR processing followed by Topaz Adjust to bring in more detail.

The picture was taken handheld with a Sony A700 with a Sigma 10-20 wide angle zoom at 10mm.

I looked round it from various locations and settled on this as the most dynamic viewpoint helped by the wide angle lens. War of the Worlds look mayby?

Note that as this image was taken on private property with strict restrictions on the professional use of images in the Ticket Conditions this image is not available for sale.
