Teguise Church Lanzarote HDR
This picture was taken inside the Church at Teguise, Lanzarote. This is an inland town which was originally the Capital. The Church does not look very special from outside but inside it has beautiful columns and arches and HDR is very good at bringing out the detail.
I took a number of pictures here and this was the last one. Just as I got it set up the caretaker attracted my attention and made a locking up gesture. I fired off the shots, bundled up my gear and got out. The Church is locked up at 1.00 precisely for Siesta
The picture was taken on a Tripod with a Sony A700 with a Sigma 10-20 wide angle zoom at 10 mm.. 3 raw images 2EV spacing. Opened in Photoshop first and each image noise reduced with Noiseware Pro and saved as tiffs.
Outputted in Photomatix to detail enhancer. Click the Camera name top right for Exif details and the settings used. I processed the main image and then processed it again with darker settings for the highlight areas.
The darker processed image was brought in as a new layer and applied with a brush using a layer mask to the highlight areas.
General adjustments in levels and curves to enhance.
Vibrance layer increase 52 points
Brightness increased in the shadowed areas using a layer mask.
Duplicate layer with mask to apply extra sharpening and contrast with low amount 77 and high radius 72 using Unsharp mask (Clarity Effect)
Filter, Lens correction, custom was used to correct verticals partly and then crop. The verticals were not fully straightened in order to retain the arches on each side.
Hue saturation blues used with layer mask to remove a blue cast from the left column.
