Split Second Sparring Capture

Here's a shot of renowned boxing trainer Frank Rivera as he trains fitness model and professional bodybuilder Michell Gullett. There were quite a bit of nice shots during my last minute "hey that looks cool can I take some pictures" shoot. But this one in particular had a nice theatrical feel to it. I like to call it the frozen motion because the photo captures a very small moment in time but there is so much left for your imagination to interpret what is going on. It reminds me of a battle scene as in the movie 300, just before the chaos ensues.

The setup was extremely simple, hence the "drop in last minute" shoot. I just used a oc flash bounced off the ceiling and a bounce card. Lens was a canon 35mm f/2 at 1/100 f-stop 2.5 iso 200. A little white balance adjustment to eliminate the harsh fluorescents in LR and a few steps in PS to finish it off.
