Everett Building

This 1908 skyscraper was very influential, the forerunner of a more functional, less decorative architectural aesthetic. It's named for the Everett Hotel, whose site it was built on, which in turn was named for Edward Everett, the guy who gave the two-hour speech at Gettysburg that was immediately forgotten.
