well i'm back from wdw, had some great times, some productive time, and some scary times (more on that later).
in the meantime let me explain this shot. this was inspired by corey dorsey and ryan pastorino's "Stack" idea in which they combine ND filters placed on top of each other to produce long exposure effects in broad daylight. This on the other hand was stack in a photoshop sense. I had shot first the monorail using an ND 3.0 x110 filter (the darkest I could find from B+W) and shot timed to the passing of the monorail. it took a couple, one for the left side and another on the right side. While I waited 15 minutes for the black monorail to pass again, i removed the Filter and set my camera to Continuous High..once the black monorail came back I shot a burst long enough to cover the entire viewing area.
Then in post it was just a matter of mixing the different long exposures using paths, cutting out the solid areas of the monorail (without any spaceship transparency), then used curves to match the color of the steady shot..added some viveza for sky saturation, and a little vignette.
it was great meeting new flickr members and meeting old friends.
thanks for looking and have a great day.
