Morning in a Frozen World

large | My top 100

This is a partially-frozen dew drop. The refraction of the landscape is slightly murky as a result, but the colors are vivid. This is upside down, so the refraction is right side up. Grass, trees, blue sky and sun.

This is shot with the 50mm reversal technique. It is also another good example of how the focal point from dew drop refractions is behind the actual dewdrop. Note the blade of grass directly in front of the drop is in sharp focus. That is also the focal point for the refracted image.
