"James"

Albino Burmese rock python (Python molurus bivittatus). James was a rescue in 1997 when he was only about eight feet long. Now he's over twelve feet long. He was most likely bred and hatched in captivity, He was about a foot long when he hatched...People don't realize when they get animals like "James" that the animal will grow to a very large size, will live a very long time (up to forty years) and will require considerable expense for proper housing and care. The state of Florida is experiencing a serious problem now because many of these large snakes have been released into the wild when they are no longer wanted. We must continue to educate people about our obligations and responsibilites toward pets whether cats or birds or dogs or reptiles...Check the "snakes" picture set and the "James" and "python" tags for more pictures.
