Columbia River biodiesel spill
An oil sheen on the Columbia River in Wenatchee, WA, was reported on March 17, 2017, by local citizens. Ecology, the Chelan County Emergency Management and other state and local agencies were the first responders. State lab tests revealed the product was biodiesel and soon traced it to the Coleman Oil bulk oil plant near the river in Wenatchee. The Department of Ecology fined the company for the spill in November 2018.
