Potatoes in the Odessa Subarea

More potatoes are grown in or near the Odessa Subarea than any other region of the country (Sorry Idaho.) Potatoes and other crops make Grant County, within which much of the Odessa Subarea lies, the 10th largest agricultural producer in the United States. Without surface water to replace the water lost in declining aquifers, it's estimated that the state would lose $840 million in annual revenue and 3,600 jobs.
