Water Works Museum. Constantia Nek Hike. Cape Town. South Africa.

Orangebreasted Sunbird ( Nectarinia Violacea ). Endemic to the south western Cape & confirmed mainly to the fynbos areas where it is resident and breeding. Seen in pairs where heaths and proreas abound, either at the coast or even to the tops of mountains throughout the area. They appear oblivious to the harshest climatic conditions. Feed on nectar from ericas and protea, as well as on insects such as flies and spiders.
