Swirling Waters

    Newer Older

This was taken last year during my trip to Jiuzhaigou Valley, SIchuan. Didn't notice this shot until I was browsing through my archives this evening.
An experiment in slow shutter speed without a tripod, with the swirling whitecaps creating the paintbrush effect of an oil painting.

nicely composed. what was the shutter speed then?

@espion - from the exif for the photo - it says 1/5 sec at f22

1/5 handheld is mighty good! :-) or did you place it on some rock?

yeah, handheld - don't even remember how I did it... some trial and experiments somehow don't repeat themselves ... :-(

Gorgeous swirls cath. You've got an amazing long exposure steadiness.

Very beautifully captured. Amazing for the said shutter speed.
