I wondered what had happened to it. I ate my first dinner in Birmingham there, when I was a college freshman. A group of us traveled to B'ham for the day, and shopped, went to a movie at Eastwood Mall (rocking chair seats!), and ate dinner at Joy Young's. It was a gorgeous, clear October day, and I fell in love with the city then.

According to my parents the Chop Suey Inn on Greensprings Hwy is owned by family members of the owners of Joy Young.

That's my understanding, but I haven't found any published confirmation.
