Redfish Lake at twilight

I have a really hard time with black and white photography. While I enjoy looking at good monochromatic images, I never find myself looking at a scene and thinking, "this could make a great black and white photo".

This shot was taken well after sunset and as a result of the heavy clouds and 25 second exposure, it came out very monochromatic blue. So I decided to try processing this one in black and white. I'm still not sure if I did this scene justice. I am definitely interested to get feedback; is it too dark? too contrasty? In the end I like the feeling it has, but I'm not sure it's for everyone.
