Camp on Little Redfish Lake

    Newer Older

The Sawtooth Mountains are such a fantastic place to photograph and camping right on Little Redfish Lake was certainly an added plus. With a view like those mountains out of your tent every morning, how could you not wake up with a smile on your face.

This is another of my Sawtooth Mountain shots from early October when I was up there with Chuck Knowles, Robert Gifford, and Vishwanath Bhat.

This was my first time out giving this new backpacking tent a try; although we were just car camping. It worked really well and I'm excited for the back country trips that I'm starting to get planned this coming year. I haven't gone backpack camping in almost 20 years, so I'm anxious to get back into it again. I'm most excited to take my 7 year old son on a short over-nighter and hopefully get him hooked.

Little Redfish is kind of a photographers dream pond anyway. What a view to wake up to.

Thanks Steven - it's great what you can do with a little Photomatix exposure fusion. ....shhhh don't tell the HDR police. ;-)

Hey Dylan. I really like this photo. Sometimes the simplest are the best. Anyway, I love the light the mountains and how the tent looks out upon the lake and majestic view. Perfect DOF.

Thanks Craig. This was definitely a fun trip and I'm glad I took this shot just before we broke camp and packed up.

How did it go? Did you get your son hooked? You sure camped in a beautiful spot. That's a gorgeous picture.

Ozarks: Sorry for the long delay in a reply, but sadly I haven't made the trip with my son yet. It got pushed out, then the forest fires started around here and we have yet to go. Soon hopefully!
