Tomorrow on June 27th Amnesty International will launch a month-long campaign on Times Square New York City to support a strong global arms treaty.
As incredible as it may seem, there are stricter international regulations on bananas, dinosaur bones, and bottled water, than on guns and bullets.
We're using humor and irony to make our case for a global Arms Trade Treaty the week before debate opens at the United Nations. The July debate at the United Nations for a global Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) could be one of the most important laws ever secured.
Enough bullets are made each year to kill everyone on the planet, twice over. Armed violence kills more than 2,000 people every day and keeps millions more living in fear or poverty.
The arms debate is barely on the public's radar but the NRA wants to squash it since arms sales are big business.
WE NEED A STRONG ARMS TREATY!
If you agree, feel free to share, post, reblog, shout loud, join on Times Square / NYC tomorrow (The event will start at Duffy Square- the northern triangle of Times Square, located between 45th and 47th Streets, Broadway and Seventh Avenue) and sign the petition here:
