Paphiopedilum Leeanum

(Paphiopedilum spicerianum × P. insigne)

Orchidaceae (Orchid family)

Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi, USA (Cultivated)

This old hybrid was widely grown in Hawaiʻi for many years. But plants can still can be found growing in pots and very often growing right in the soil.

I crossed a remake of sorts using Paphiopedilum exul with P. spicerianum and registered it as Paphiopedilum Mt. Kaʻala.

**NOTE**

While I enjoy orchids, as an environmentally conscious orchid grower in Hawaiʻi, I am proactive when it comes to removing and properly destroying any and all seed pods from the plants so as not to encourage their spreading into our fragile native Hawaiian forests.
