Snapped DOM SKG** Euro Cylinder and Bump Key

After my ineffective attempt at picking the DOM SKG** cylinder lock, I tried the bumping method with a freshly manufactured bump key (also in this picture) by one of my friends at Hackerspace Hack42.

One of the pins in the lock did not wish to cooperate, so we had to resort to a more drastic, violent and destructive method; snapping the cylinder.

Do note that the only way this method worked, is because we had access to both sides of the cylinder, with the door furniture removed (which is why it is so important to mount cylinders flush with the hardware).

The presence of the black markings on the key bits is an indication that this key has been in aggressive contact with the pins.

The keyway of the cylinder (not visible) also shows a tell-tale sign of the bumping method being used on it, an indent where the shoulder of the key impacted on the cylinder.
