THE SEED GATHERER

    Newer Older

I have purchased thistle seeds to feed the wild goldfinches, but had never seen them gathering their own. I was amazed at how much they could gather at one time. This was taken east of Mitchell, South Dakota on July 7, 2008 near an abandonded farm that had a plentiful supply of bull thistle and a nearby water supply.

Nature Conservancy magazine and najma21 added this photo to their favorites.
