La Llorona costume

I was inspired by La Llorona's story and the 1933's movie. Her dress was white once upon a time. I decided to use the off white cotton fabric, threads, and lace to make it look vintage.

The embroidery was inspired by the mexican Huipil style and the stitches were taught to me by my grandmother. The head veil was also croched by me. I used a regular doilly pattern for the base and added flowers to embellish. :)

The tears are removable. I made droplets of hot glue fall in cold water. They cool down fast as they touch the water and also get the shape of tears... if done correctly. I just softened the top end a little and gave it the shape of a small hook so it would hold from the eye socket.
