Lake Huron Dunes

The Lake Huron dunes at the tip of the Michigan Thumb. Dunes on the Great Lakes tend to form on eastern shores, so most Michigan dunes are along the shores of Lake Michigan itself. An exception is the eastern shore of Saginaw Bay. The dunes are less dramatic than their counterparts, but they are calm and beautiful. It's a great place to hang out.
