My Boy & His Puppy
Alex and Roxy hanging out on a brisk Sunday morning in December.
PCA 277 - High Noon: I took this just before noon today with the sun practically over my son's right shoulder (camera left). For a couple reasons, I decided to process with a lighter, cooler and lower contrast tonality. For one, the harsh light cast a pretty big shadow....so I tried to overexpose to compensate. Processing with a lighter black point helped neutralize that harshness. Secondly, The extreme warm yellowy green white balance was not pleasant to me, so I wanted to cool it off. Finally, I wanted to capture this in a vintage tonal style, as I feel it denotes a touch of emotional nostalgia...just as the the memories themselves will do for my entire family some day :)
I used a split toned the image by adding a touch of purples in the shadows and oranges in the highlights.
