Ya gotta love the simplicity of older machinery. Thing is, if your missing 1 part your missing 1/2 your stuff.

From inside the Charles City Western 300, 1915 Steeplecab Electric Locomotive.

IRM purchased this locomotive in 1972. It is the only surviving electric locomotive built by McGuire-Cummings.

It's a big ole orange mass of locomotive. Much bigger than this novice would have thought for an electric. The outside is restored and painted and now they're working on making it run.

Couldn't really get a clen shot of the locomotive as it's packed into the barn with the other equipment. But, John Nelligan as kind enough to let me inside the cab for a couple of quick shots.

John is doing the electric work on this engine and was kind enough to give me the entire story. This is another locomotive I'll have to keep tabs on. For sure, I need to figure out a way to get a clean shot of the entire locomotive. It's a beaut.
