Looking for clams

Brown Bear (Ursus arctos) mother and cubs walk along the water's edge in Hallo Bay, Alaska near Homer. Photo taken in the wild. I was about 50 feet from the bears.

I was surprised to learn that they were looking for clams. Their scat was filled with crushed clams shells. The Brown Bear of the Alaska coast is the same species as the Grizzly Bear.
