Flickr Loves Sushi. Mmm.

Newer Older

I was quite honored to discover that my sushi shot - www.flickr.com/photos/drp/1291753 - is being featured on the Flickr home page, along with those of three very talented photographers:

Gen Kanai: www.flickr.com/photos/gen/2211583/
Roamer: www.flickr.com/photos/38333831@N00/2110361/
Tangentialism: www.flickr.com/photos/tangentialism/2257843/

I've never had my photographic work chosen for use in any regard before, so I'm quite thrilled and deeply humbled to be included, even in a small way, in the continued development of this site. I've made so many good friends since being here, and I am continually floored by the talent and creativity that exists on Flickr.

After suffering with panic and anxiety attacks for the past 3 years (since being out of full time work), my esteem and confidence has basically been knocked down to zero. Every comment you leave picks me up a little and helps to pull me out of my malaise. Your photos inspire me each day, and encourage me to do better. Your kind words validate me as an "artist," and prove to me that I can do good work.

So, thank you all.

And thank you Flickr.
I love being a part of this community.

Bon appetit!

By the way, this is what I look like from the other side of the table:

Currently (September 2006), this is the most interesting photo with the tag "rice" on flickr. www.flickr.com/groups/19324346@N00/
