God Could Not Be Everywhere, So He Created Mothers

    Newer Older

"A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts."

    - Washington Irving

The innocent days of childhood are fleeting.
Only the love of a mother endures, in memory and heart.
    Happy Mothers Day.

This picture and text really moves me. Two years ago I lost my mom, I still miss her everyday but I try to be to my daughters like she was to me.

A lovely photo, and title, however, not all mothers are created equal. Not all mothers possess the ability to mother. Some , instead, need more to be mothered, which can be difficult for their children, and so, Mother's Day can be a difficult day for them to know how to react to. My mother is always there, needing.

very sexist title yet lovely pic.
the same statement regarding fathers would be regarded as utterly politically incorrect... isn't that strange ?
