I was walking round the outside of Camden Market on the main street with a few of the other guys, when Paula walked past. She was working for a local bar called 'Cubans' I believe, doing promotions and handing out leaflets. A couple of the others out shooting strangers walked past and I couldn't quite believe it, as I thought she would make a great addition to my stranger pool.
I took a few standard straight on portraits, but then I asked if she would be happy to move a bit closer to the wall, and directed how she stood, which is something I don't tend to do that often. I was keen to get the cool bricks in as the background, and I am pretty happy with how the shot turned out.
This shot was a little different for me, as along with giving a bit more direction to my strangers, I did try to think more about the background, which you may see in a few of my other shots from the day.
As she was working, I couldn't stop Paula long, but I was really grateful that she took the time out to have some shots done.
Thanks for being in my project Paula, and I hope you like your portrait.
