Explosion in Green

Taking inspiration from the ways that people in the strobist group have lit their drops I created these last night moving away from just using dye to using backdrops for the light. Found that with the water all clear the splash was too similar to the water in the bowl so added some dye to make a difference.

Please comment!! let me know what you think.. what's good and what's bad!

Clear water dropping into blue dyed water (made it a bit too dark but hey!)

Green paper background, Vivitar 283 set to minimum power on both flash and varipower unit (1/16th on both) fired directly at the paper.

2sec exposure @ F16, ISO 200. Canon 100mm Macro lens, approx 1:3 mag.

Ive started a blog Drips Drops and Splashes & Macro that I'm trying to populate with info on how to take these shots.
