I usually make one trip a year to our local zoo, The Magnetic Hill Zoo, in the early fall when it is a bit cooler. The weather forecast called for sunny and a bit cooler, so I thought I would take my chances. I had the pleasure of being accompanied by my new friend and fellow photographer, Julie.
After we left the lions, we started the saunter around the zoo. The primates had been fed around 12:30pm, and most were asleep. However, we found the baboon was up, and moving about. I only had a moment to catch this shot through the wire, before it proceeded to show us its posterior. I guess it was camera shy.
Last year, when I went, I was shooting with my 80-400 on my Nikon D300. This year, it was test time for the 50-500 I picked up last fall, with the new body.
