Coming In To Perch (20120524-120729-PJG)
I was out visiting my favorite eagle's nest in the country. I strongly suspect that the eaglets have hatched, from the behavior of the parents. One or both mature bald eagles would be around. When one was in the nest, they would stay to side, instead of sitting in the middle of it.
The white pine containing the nest is now in full foliage, so it is difficult to find an opening to their nest or the perch above it, from ground level. As I was leaving the area, I found a location giving me a reasonable view, just in time for one of the bald eagles to come in to perch, on their favorite branch above the nest.
I know this is a very busy shot. However, it is one that I have wanted to get for some time. I am absolutely stunned by the power of their landing.
