This one is for Ronnie Choi, a friend who also shared a passion for photography. May he rest in peace.

Used my own devised picture control for this shot. I adjusted the settings to mimic Velvia (work in progress). I hope to be able to get it close to the emulsion or be able to download some good ones ie Fuji Provia, Astia, Kodak E100vs and maybe even AGFA stuff. This way I can have some limitations while shooting with digital which will make this DSLR alot funner! In the end I hope to be able to shoot jpg with these controls the way I shoot film.

Went on a day trip to Banff during the Thanksgiving weekend. Weather was really crappy on our way there. Almost aborted but really glad I didn't. The Rain clouds passed, and as many are aware, lanscapes after rain are often much clearer!

After visiting Banff countless times this was the first time I came to this spot, just below the Tans Canada. Really great location although it's not very original.

For this shot I was actually in the water, the most I can say I have done to get shot. I guess I should be more daring seeing how people get spectacular shots in risky places!

The D700 continues to impress. Dynamic range of this beast is much wider than the previous DSLRs I have played with. For the first time I tried doing Magic hour shots handheld. At 800 iso I took a panoramic combo. But I do admit, this freedom does take away some of the challanges of photography. Film really is more rewarding!
