Sabine, Sabine... 6293

Sabine, Sabine…..

The Sabine’s Gull is distinctive amongst gulls. A bold pattern on its upper wing, pointed wings, and a notched tail make it appear more tern-like than gull-like. Its black bill with a yellow tip is distinctive. Clandestine habits during the winter season put is far out at sea, near the continental shelf. During summer it breeds along the high Arctic coastline. Unfortunately, or not, whenever I hear the name I am reminded of a movie by Mr. Bean. #SabinesGull
