Prairie Sky 8125

A Prairie Warbler leaps into the sky at the Michael Huber Prairie Warbler Reserve in Woodland Township. These brightly colored little birds inhabit the central, southern and eastern portions of the United States. Females consume the shells of the eggs shortly after the chicks hatch. How's that for recycling calcium! Capturing these birds in flight tends to be rather difficult because of their size, the rapidity with which they move, and lower light conditions that frequently pervade the locations in which they live. A little luck can go a long way! #PrairieWarbler
