The photos from the series Artificial Landscapes were taken during autumn and winter last year on a sandy area just close to Zrenjanin, my hometown..
The sand of this location is used for various projects in the city and its surrounding areas. Most of these projects are being carried out without any urban planning or the supervision and consent of the Institute of Urban Planning. Many times these projects are the subject of political scandals and disputes
The place where these landscapes were taken have multiple meaning for me. Here everything and nothing exists parallelly… man and nature fight for predominance. The sand being somehow clean and innocent.. And in the end, that same sand was once the bottom of the Pannonian sea..
