aqueduct, nanzen-ji

    we never got a good explanation of what a roman-style aquaduct is doing in the middle of one of the most important temples of zen buddhism. perhaps there is simply only one good way to build an aquaduct.

      The aqueduct is part of the Meiji period canal system from Lake Biwa into Kyoto.
      Why they had to put it in the temple grounds, i assume is related to topography...
