Jameel, Highcross - Leicester 20/100
I went out to Leicester today with my brother drmaccon to kick start his new 100 strangers project.
In keeping with the spirit of learning I decided to use flash today, having never shot with flash before and decided that all the shots I took this afternoon would use the SB600 I got for Christmas.
I've also been reading a lot of books and blogs (or at least looking at the pictures) and taking inspiration from others that I want to begin using to extend my own work. One of my favourite blogs is Danny Santos and I have really enjoyed his Orchard Road portraits and the close framing he used - this was another idea I wanted to try out for a mini-series within my strangers project.
Shortly after arriving, and whilst still setting up my iso/flash comp etc I met Jameel. I liked his glasses - the dark tints, the dark hair and the dark jacket so asked him to be part of the project. He was very cool with it although I only took two shots before he was off again (moo card in hand).
This is the 20th portrait in my 100 Strangers Project round 2.
