Pont d’Espagne and Lac de Gaube.
Saturday 7th A brilliant clear blue sky today with a few fluffy clouds so we decided to return to Pont d’Espagne and take the cable car and chairlift up to Lac de Gaube. The chairlift was a new experience; we were very struck with the quietness. A 30 min walk took us to the Lake and after a picnic lunch we walked along a rocky footpath to the far end – about an hour each way. The light was magnificent and the scenery beautiful – a bit more like Scotland or the Lakes. We took the chairlift back and walked down the last part past the Pont. (Cost of parking & cable cars return - €17).
An easier day but enough after yesterday. Returned for a short swim. George and Sandra (retired teachers from the N) came round for a drink before they leave tomorrow.
