blessed

seven months into my handcrafted secondhand year, these FARSTRUP danish chairs stopped me in my tracks at the thrift store yesterday.

yes indeedy, the thrifty gods had blessed me and it would have been a crime not to get them at $15 a piece.

this morning they are donned in new 'spring fling' coats and feeling most at home in Mossy Shed.

i love them and their granny chic charms so much, i actually do not wish any member of my clan to sit upon them.

to solve my worries, i am thinking of charging a 'seating fee' to put them off using my best thrifty find ever :)

Maybe if I stop looking for chairs, I'll find them. I ve been visualizing chairs for about 6 months now and they have not yet appeared.
Were you thinking 'chairs' as you were thrifting?

thank you all so kindly for your delight on my behalf :)

ATLITW, they were given the utmost priority, thus i did no feeding of my clan last night nor this morning!

vallenqueen, they have the original black vinyl underneath but on top of that, a rather iffy maroon fabric had been attached... so indeed they have been through a few owners i'm thinking

wisecraft! can you believe it! in one of our thrift stores... i have never found midcentury furniture before whilst thrifting. i was in shock, positively shaking with the discovery, i think you will be able to understand that more than anyone :)

lolanova, that i believe was why it happened, i wasn't even planning on going thrifting, but as i passed by i thought "why not". i had given up all hope of ever finding a set of chairs... i wasn't even visualizing them, but now i do believe in miracles, especially of the thrifting kind.

oh that is just such a great find!

Yep, mine were black vinyl (ahem, leather). It's entirely possible, I s'pose. I don't imagine we paid more than $15 for them way back when. We lived in Renton when we sold it all and moved back home to California (from whence came the chairs BTW). There was a matching table that I have always regretted giving up, too.

    Miss Tif,
your finds always prove that Thrift Gods send their Angels to you while you are thrifting!

Lovely all again, but please be so sweet and soft as to reconsider charging your clan!
