Weighted Companion Cube

    Newer Older

I was surprised how well this came out, but I have a few ideas to make it better on my second attempt. 3.5 x 3.5 x 3.5 cm, technically hollow but filled with support material, so the total volume of the cube was much smaller that way.

What kind of die is this? Any way you roll it, you just get one.

Or is it like a chance cube, where one side is blue, and the rest are red?

I think it's a bit on the large side for a die... but the same thought occurred to me before. Maybe I should think up some Portal board game.

I don't plan on making these for sale like I did with the keychains. Sorry.

:'- ( If you end up with some scrap cubes, could you be swayed to sell them? Maybe give them away? *hint hint*

Haha, if I end up with any extras I'll definitely mention it here on Flickr, but don't count on it... I'm not going to push my luck and start making these for people like I did with the my keychains. And I definitely won't be giving anything away. We're in a recession you know! ;)

Nice model - did you get this made from Shapeways during their black material sale?

    9. ⣫⣤⣇⣤ 77 months ago | reply

I wish. Unfortunately I missed the sale, I thought the offer ended on the 31st... so by the time I ordered it was too late. No matter though, it was still worth it.

Now that you have access to a 3D printer are you still interested in my functional box model? (pm me)

    13. ⣫⣤⣇⣤ 77 months ago | reply

Thanks, but I went ahead and modeled my own, so I'm prepared if I want to make it into a box. :D
